Manfred Reyes Villa -  Former Guest Speaker at the Leadership Institute

Manfred Reyes Villa is a Bolivian politician, who was mayor of Cochabamba four times and a Governor of Cochabamba and ran for presidency in 2002 (against Gonzalo Sánchez de Lozada) and in 2009, coming second with 26% of the vote.

Reyes Villa founded and leads the Nueva Fuerza Republicana (New Republican Force) political party. He also served as the Governor of Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Manfred Reyes Villa studied in the Israelite College of his native city, La Paz, and the Military University where he got his Bachelor’s degree in Military Science. During his military career, he occupied important posts such as Professor in matters of military specialization, and was trained in the School of the Americas in Panama. He was a military attaché to the Embassies of Bolivia in Brazil and the United States, and Secretary General of the Association of Military Adjuncts of South America in Washington, DC.

In Bolivian Reyes Villa implemented conservative principles and undertook major development projects and supported greater autonomy from the central government in all the departments (states). Currently he is the most important opposition to the current socialist government of Bolivia. Manfred is a speaker at the Leadership Institute where he trains key leaders from several countries around the world.
