Alex Smith serves as the Leadership Institute’s Regional Field Coordinator for Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, West Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky.
Graduating from Bridgewater College in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Alex led the College Republicans chapter as president. During his tenure, the chapter hosted local Virginia Representatives from the House of Delegates and State Senate.
As a Field Representative in Kentucky, Alex contributed to a 30% increase in conservative clubs within the state during the 2023 fall semester. Concurrently, he volunteered with the Kentucky GOP for their off-year election cycle.
In the spring semester, Alex transitioned to the role of Regional Field Coordinator for Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Working with his team, he helped facilitate a 20% growth in clubs across the region. Alex collaborated with organizations such as Young Americans for Liberty to initiate policy changes on campuses, Turning Point USA to coordinate conservative speaker events, and Students for Life to support their campus tour initiatives.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys reading, exploring podcast production, and playing soccer. When winter arrives, he can often be found on the ski slopes.
