Josh Emerick is the Midwest Regional Director of the State and Local Leaders Program at the Leadership Institute, where he leverages over a decade of experience in political communications, strategy, research, grassroots activism, and voter contact. A Southwest Michigan native, Josh is deeply passionate about local elections, though his campaign experience spans from local races to presidential campaigns for conservative leaders including Mike Rahn, Rob Sisson, Rick Shaffer, Mark Kirk, Tom Cotton, and Marco Rubio.
Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business from Roosevelt University and a Master’s degree in Leadership from Southeastern University. In addition to his work at the Leadership Institute, he serves as the Training Chair for the Young Republican National Federation and has previously held the position of Political Director for the Florida Young Republicans (FLYR).
When he’s not working on advancing conservative principles, Josh enjoys kayaking, hiking, reading, playing guitar, karaoke, and watching the latest action or comedy films. A devoted Michigan Wolverines fan, Josh resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
