Storytelling Symposium
"Stories constitute the single most powerful weapon in a leader's arsenal." - Dr. Howard Gardner, professor at Harvard University
"Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller, waiting to be released." - Robin Moore, author
Stories are the most effective way to persuade audiences to join your cause. Whether you need funds, volunteers, policy changes, or votes, a story is the most powerful way to build empathy and move people into action.
Abortion advocates have created activist projects based entirely on storytelling (WeTestify, Shout Your Abortion) and benefit from media eager to amplify their voices. Leadership Institute is joining with Dr. Heidi Petak of Speak Eagle, to teach pro-lifers how to raise our voices in response.
The Storytelling Symposium is for pro-life leaders, activists, policymakers, fundraisers, and anyone who has a story to tell.
Explore the art of impactful narrative, including examples of both good and bad storytelling. Discuss how to identify, prepare, and protect storytellers in your organization. Learn how to tell your own story effectively.
The Storytelling Symposium is a one-day workshop that will include time for practicing your story. Please come prepared with a rough draft of your experience, 2-7 minutes long, from which you will edit and create a powerful testimony.
The $25 tuition includes breakfast, lunch, and a shared hotel room.
Why should we learn how to be better storytellers? Because stories win.
“Anyone who wants to win owes it to their cause to learn how.”
- Morton Blackwell
