ABOUT | Youth Leadership School: America250 at American Village

Kick off the summer of America 250 by attending the Youth Leadership School in Birmingham, AL!

The Youth Leadership School (YLS) is the Leadership Institute’s flagship training. Often called “the boot camp of politics," this two-day intensive course is an essential program for anyone who wants to achieve success in the political process.

By attending a Youth Leadership School, you receive the comprehensive campaign activism training to become an effective youth leader for candidates and causes of your choice. Many students take their energy and momentum from their campus leadership and turn it into a political force on election campaigns.

The Youth Leadership School teaches you how to:

• Organize large numbers of volunteers and voters to expand outreach
• Grow the size and effectiveness of your group
• Motivate volunteers with exciting and meaningful projects
• Host high-profile speaker events and impactful activism projects on campus
• Create eye-catching signs and literature to gain favorable media coverage

On Monday following the training, students will visit American Village in Montevallo, AL for a day excursion! Students will hear from experts and advisors on American 250 as well as become enriched in American History.

Thanks to the generous support of The Warner Foundation, 40 full scholarships are available for a select number of students. To apply for a scholarship, please select “scholarship attendee registration,” when applying for this training. Full scholarships cover your flight, lodging, meals, materials, and in some locations, an excursion after the training. Your registration also includes a resume consultation to help with your career advancement.
