ABOUT | Storytelling Symposium: How to Use Your Story & what to do if your story blows up
"Stories constitute the single most powerful weapon in a leader's arsenal." - Dr. Howard Gardner, professor at Harvard University
"Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller, waiting to be released." - Robin Moore, author
Stories are the most effective way to persuade audiences to join your cause. Whether you need funds, volunteers, policy changes, or votes, a story is the most powerful way to build empathy and move people into action.
Abortion advocates have created activist projects based entirely on storytelling (WeTestify, Shout Your Abortion) and the benefit from media eager to amplify their voices. Leadership Institute is joining with Secular Pro-Life and Abortion Survivors' Network to teach pro-lifers how to raise our voices in response.
The Storytelling Symposium is for pro-life leaders, activists, policymakers, fundraisers, and anyone who has a story to tell.
Engage with communications experts and real-world storytellers as they explore the art of impactful narrative, including examples of both good and bad storytelling. Explore how to identify, prepare, and protect storytellers in your organization. Learn how to tell your own story effectively.
The Storytelling Symposium will include five 90-minute Zoom sessions on Tuesday evenings in January and February, as well as a single, full-day hybrid workshop (in-person and online) in Arlington, Virginia, (timed to coincide with the March for Life).
