In Session 1, you’ll learn why campaigning is personal and explore key statistics showing how media and platform fragmentation have made traditional mass marketing less effective. Understand the growing importance of friend recommendations and influencer marketing in building trust and driving political change.
Session 2 will provide an in-depth overview of relational organizing—the art of mobilizing your network to reach and engage their friends and family. You’ll learn expert strategies for voter registration, event turnout, and driving voter participation.
In Session 3, we’ll dive into the world of influencer outreach. You'll discover how to identify the right influencers, build meaningful relationships with them, and create content that drives voter turnout. We’ll also explore paid influencer marketing, showing you how to effectively collaborate with influencers to boost your campaign's reach and impact.
Finally, in Session 4, we’ll teach you how to measure the success of your relational efforts. You’ll learn how to track and evaluate results, ensuring that your efforts are making a tangible impact. Plus, you’ll gain insight into how to explain the value of these strategies to candidates, donors, and the media.

Eric Wilson
About Your Faculty
Eric Wilson is Executive Director of the Center for Campaign Innovation and Editor of CampaignTrend.com.
Eric is a political technologist driving innovation and digital transformation. He’s a veteran of numerous campaigns, having led Marco Rubio’s digital team during his 2016 campaign for president.
Named Campaigns & Election’s “2021 Technology Leader of the Year” and a Harvard Ash Center Technology & Democracy Fellow (2019-2021), he’s frequently interviewed by the media about campaigns and technology and regularly speaks domestically and internationally about the digital transformation of politics.
He’s a proud graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas.
Eric and his family live in the Washington, D.C. area.
