  • Build relationships instead of simply broadcasting messages.
  • Apply strategies to strengthen your social media presence.


Platform Essentials

You’ll Learn How to:

  • Set up and optimize Facebook, Instagram, and X for political advocacy.
  • Navigate verification processes, post types, and moderation tools.
  • Determine the best posting frequency for each platform.
  • Use each platform’s unique features to reach and engage your audience.


Crafting Your Voice

You’ll Learn How to:
  • Develop a distinctive and recognizable social media voice
  • Use a three-part framework to define what your campaign represents.
  • Create relevant and consistent content across platforms.

Social Media Advertising

You’ll Learn How to:
  • Understand native advertisements, political advertising verification, and common ad formats.
  • Set clear goals for your advertising campaigns.
  • Plan and manage paid social media campaigns.


Measuring Success

You’ll Learn How to:
  • Set measurable goals and track campaign results.
  • Use UTM codes and Google Analytics to monitor performance.
  • Review platform metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Apply your findings to strengthen your social media strategy.

About Your Faculty


Eric Wilson is Executive Director of the Center for Campaign Innovation and Editor of CampaignTrend.com. 


Eric is a political technologist driving innovation and digital transformation. He’s a veteran of numerous campaigns, having led Marco Rubio’s digital team during his 2016 campaign for president.


Named Campaigns & Election’s “2021 Technology Leader of the Year” and a Harvard Ash Center Technology & Democracy Fellow (2019-2021), he’s frequently interviewed by the media about campaigns and technology and regularly speaks domestically and internationally about the digital transformation of politics.


He’s a proud graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North Texas.


Eric and his family live in the Washington, D.C. area.
