What You’ll Learn:
- Understanding Social Media: Expert faculty will define the proper use of digital media, why it's about creating meaningful connections (rather than just broadcasting messages).
- Platform Essentials: Dive into the most important social media platforms for political advocacy—Facebook, Instagram, and X. Learn how to set up and optimize each platform, including verification processes, post types, moderation tools, and best practices for posting frequency. This session will give you the essential knowledge to make the most of each platform’s unique features.
- Crafting Your Voice: Learn how to develop a distinctive social media voice with a three-part framework defining what your campaign stands for. View content creation strategies that ensure your posts are relevant and consistent.
- Social Media Advertising: Get an introduction to social media advertising, including native ads, political advertising verification, and ad types. You’ll understand setting clear advertising goals, and also how to navigate paid social media campaigns effectively.
- Measuring Success: Learn to measure the effectiveness of your social media campaigns by setting goals and tracking results. You'll get experience with UTM code tracking and Google Analytics, along with an in-depth look at platform metrics and how to interpret them to improve your strategy.
By course end, you will understand how to leverage social media to advance your political cause, with practical tools for content creation, advertising, and performance measurement.
