Mossab Hassan Yousef - American Author and Former Militant
Mosab Hassan Yousef (born May 5, 1978, in Ramallah, West Bank) is an American author, speaker, and former undercover intelligence asset known for his dramatic personal and ideological journey. The eldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a co-founder of the Palestinian Islamist organization Hamas, Mosab initially grew up immersed in the conflict in the West Bank. In 1997, after being detained by Israeli authorities, he began secretly working with Israel’s internal security service, Shin Bet, providing information that helped thwart numerous attacks—a role that earned him the nickname “The Green Prince.” Wikipedia+1
After leaving Hamas and converting from Islam to Christianity in 1999, Yousef moved to the United States in 2007 and later authored the New York Times bestselling memoir Son of Hamas, which chronicles his life, defection, and transformation. His story was also the subject of the award-winning documentary The Green Prince. Today, he is a sought-after speaker on issues related to the Middle East, terrorism, faith, and peace, and he remains a controversial and compelling voice in global discussions about extremism and reconciliation.
