Dave Sackett -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Dave Sackett is a founding Partner in The Tarrance Group, one of the most respected and successful Republican survey research and strategy teams in American politics today.  Sackett has an extensive background in campaign strategy, political media and message development, and demographic targeting.

Sackett serves as the pollster and strategic adviser for more than forty Republican Governors, U.S. Senators, Members of Congress, and State leaders, including U.S. Senators John Barrasso of Wyoming, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Marco Rubio of Florida, and Ben Sasse of Nebraska, as well as Governors Kay Ivey of Alabama, Charlie Baker of Massachusetts, and Mark Gordon of Wyoming.

Sackett served as a pollster for Governor Youngkin in the 2021 Virginia Governor’s race and, during the 2020 election cycle, served as the pollster for Senator Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, and the pollster for the Kansas, Maine, North Carolina, and South Carolina Senate Independent Expenditure (IE) efforts for the NRSC IE unit and Senate Leadership Fund.  He also served as an IE pollster for the RGA and NRCC IE unites as well as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Congressional Leadership Fund.

In addition to his domestic political work, Sackett is also very active in international politics, having served as a pollster and strategic advisor for two different Canadian Premiers, and national campaigns in Canada, France, Ukraine, Montenegro, Cyprus, Russia, and the Philippines.

Sackett grew up in Canada and is a graduate of Trent University.  He switched to politics when his hockey career was cut short by a lack of talent.
