LI Trains New Member of Parliament in Tanzania

November 22, 2010, Arlington, VA—Leadership Institute Graduate Amos Makalla won in Tanzania’s recent elections and is now a Member of Parliament. Read on for a personal testimony of how LI helped him win.

Mr. Amos Makalla wrote, “I am now a Member of Parliament for Mvomero constituency in Tanzania. With immense pleasure I thank the Leadership Institute for giving me tactics and skills on campaign strategies. I was smart on how to manage negative campaigns. I am now longing to have more training at your institute.”

Mr. Makalla has taken four LI schools: Campaign School, International Leadership Training School (twice), and International School of Fundraising.

The Leadership Institute is an educational foundation whose mission is to increase the number and effectiveness of conservative activists and leaders in the public policy process. To accomplish this, LI identifies, recruits, trains, and places conservatives in government, politics, and the media.  Since the Institute’s 1979 founding, more than 90,000 people have been trained (with half of those being in the last six years) in one or more of the 40 current programs offered in all 50 states and across the globe.
