Every Tuesday, this training series completes a "deep dive" into new digital technology and effective strategies about how to support your online activism and political efforts.

Become a digitally savvy activist and gain in depth knowledge of a variety of key topics in the digital field. With a mix of speaker presentations and panels, you will learn from center-right digital professionals how to best optimize your digital footprint.

November 24: Introduction to Cyber Security

There are billions of connections on the internet between humans and computers. Inside those connections, cybercriminals attempt to seamlessly blend into your email and texts. Which begs the question, how do I know that I am protected?

One of the strongest defenses is awareness. The phrase "knowledge is power" couldn't be more applicable to the realm of cyber security. In this session, you will learn:

  • what different types of "hacks" are -- and what they mean for you;
  • how to stay safe on social media, both in account security and the information you share; and
  • what to do if you get hacked or receive malicious email, phone call, or text.
You will leave this training with the ability to deter common online scams and the foundations of a strong, safe online presence.


The training ends at 1pm Eastern / Washington D.C. time.

Before joining LI, Emma was a foreign trainer for the Walt Disney Company in China where she developed and provided a high quality service that increased customer satisfaction and retention.

Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Emma graduated from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Buiness with a degree in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems.
