What you will learn

LI's unique Future Candidate School teaches potential candidates the steps to take now to ensure a winning campaign in the future. The training focuses on your personal and political preparation for a future career in elected office.

The nation's top campaign experts and leading political consultants will show you how to prepare yourself for a successful candidacy.
You will learn to:
  • Develop the attributes of effective candidates
  • Build a strong base of grassroots support
  • Define and polish your message
  • Raise funds
This training is currently scheduled to be held online only but is prepared to move in-person should Arlington County safety guidelines permit. In the event it moves in-person, anyone who registered for the online portion will still be able to virtually attend.

NOTE: The Future Candidate School is not designed for current candidates. If you are running for office now, you'll benefit from attending the following LI programs: Public Speaking Workshop, Advanced Public Speaking Workshop, One-on-One Public Speaking Workshop, Introduction to Television Techniques, On-Camera Television Workshop, One-on-One Television Workshop, and High-Dollar Fundraising.
