Rick Tyler -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Rick Tyler is Co-Founder of Foundry Road Strategies, a strategic, communications consulting firm specializing in helping their political and corporate clients reach their leadership potential by honing their communications skills. He is currently a Political Analyst for the MSNBC Cable News Network and an On-Air Host at Sirius XM Radio working specifically on POTUS-Channel 124 as a regular fill-in host giving a broad, conservative perspective to unfolding political events. 

Rick also is currently a Speaker at World Wide Speakers Group, a leading global professional services firm providing distinctive performance and innovative solutions in the global lecture industry to corporate, trade, education, and commercial customers worldwide. 

Rick was the National Spokesperson and Communications Director for U.S. Senator Ted Cruz’s campaign for president. Before joining the Cruz for President campaign, Rick was with The Strategy Group Company, a nationally recognized political advertising and media placement firm. In the 2012 election cycle, Rick served as senior advisor and spokesman for Winning Our Future, a pro-Newt Gingrich for President Super PAC. As a member of the senior leadership team, Rick provided strategic advice on all aspects of the effort to help Newt Gingrich secure the Republican nomination for President. Prior to joining the PAC, Rick was a key member of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s team for more than a decade serving as Gingrich’s advisor and spokesman. 

Rick was the Founding Director of Renewing American Leadership (ReAL), a not-for-profit organization, and served as Chairman of ReAL Action, the citizen-activist arm of ReAL. Both organizations are dedicated to preserving America’s Judeo-Christian heritage by defending and promoting the pillars of American civilization: faith, family, freedom, and free enterprise. Rick has lead political education and training programs for federal, state and local candidates and political activists. As lead trainer for GOPAC and trainer for the Leadership Institute, Rick has trained hundreds of candidates, their staffs, and volunteers to lead successful campaigns for elected office in 26 different states. 

Rick has been invited to speak about his political and policy insights by many conservative groups, committees and state legislative caucuses. He was a guest lecturer at both the Institute for Politics at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, the Robert J. Dole Institute for Politics at the University of Kansas, and the Global Center for Political Engagement and The George Washington University. 

A gifted communicator, Rick has been heard on numerous national and local radio shows and has appeared hundreds of times on national television shows including MSNBC; Fox News Channel; CNN; CBS News; NBC News; ABC News; PBS; HBO; CNBC; CBN; Bloomberg News; BBC; CBC; RTE and Al Jazeera. 

Rick is a contributing author to the New York Times Best Sellers Real Change: From the World that Fails to the World that Works and To Save American both by Newt Gingrich. He was also the project manager for Speaker Gingrich’s book on healthcare called Saving Lives and Saving Money. 

Rick lives in Virginia with his wife and daughter.
