Jason Glodt -  Volunteer Faculty at the Leadership Institute

Jason Glodt has served as a Senior Policy Advisor, lobbyist, and lawyer for Governors Rounds and Daugaard. His areas of expertise include agriculture, energy, transportation, and environmental regulation. Before working in the Office of the Governor, he worked as an Assistant Attorney General where he won a dozen Supreme Court cases, gained experience in litigation, and served as the director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Jason has been organizing grassroots politics for almost twenty years, and there is nobody in the state who has worked on more campaigns. Jason served as the Chairman of the Black Hills State University College Republicans and State Chairman of the South Dakota College Republicans. He was the Executive Director of the South Dakota Republican Party from 2003 to 2004 and played an integral role in US Senator John Thune's victory over Tom Daschle. Jason also worked as the Political Director for the 2006 Rounds gubernatorial campaign, the South Dakota Republican Party during the 2008 election cycle, and the 2010 Daugaard gubernatorial campaign where he managed successful grassroots organizations and Get-Out-The-Vote efforts.

In 1995 Governor Bill Janklow appointed Jason to serve as the student member of the South Dakota Board of Regents and re-appointed him in 1996. Jason was elected as a Pierre City Commissioner in 2003, winning almost 50 percent of the vote in a five-way race despite having lived in Pierre for only three years. He was re-elected to the Commission in 2006. Jason is an Eagle Scout and was selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young South Dakotans in 2004. He volunteers with several community service groups and is a past president of the Pierre Exchange Club and Masonic Lodge.

Jason grew up in Wessington Springs before moving to Spearfish where he graduated high school. He went on to earn a B.S. degree in Political Science from Black Hills State University before earning his Juris Doctorate degree in Law from The University of South Dakota.

Jason and his wife, Michelle, have two children, Carson and Allison.
