Phil Watson is the director of special projects at the Second Amendment Foundation, online editor for TheGunMag, and executive director of the International Association for the Protection of Civilian Arms Rights.
Recently, Phil rallied 24 gun rights groups from 16 different countries to oppose and lobby against the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. His project "Gun Owners Against Illegal Mayors" gained national recognition in highlighting the hypocrisy of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Mayor's Against Illegal Guns. Phil also appears frequently in media interviews and public gatherings in support of Second Amendment rights. His online debate against State Senator Adam Kline is the second most watched debate in the history of the Seattle Times.
Prior to joining the Second Amendment Foundation, Phil worked on several legislative and congressional campaigns in Washington. He also interned with the Leadership Institute and in the United States Congress. Before venturing into politics, Phil helped successfully run several businesses.
Phil was born and raised in Lakewood, Washington. He is a graduate of the University of Washington and is a veteran of the Army Reserves.
