Glen Caroline serves as Director of the NRA-ILA Grassroots Division, which is comprised of 11 staff members. He develops and implements NRA=s political and legislative grassroots programs, as well the Association’s campaign field operations, voter registration drives, and Get Out The Vote campaigns at the national, state, and local levels.

He is responsible for the recruitment, training, and mobilization of the Association’s 240+ Election Volunteer Coordinators (EVCs) nationwide.  Since the 2008 elections, Mr. Caroline hired, trained, and supervised 77 Campaign Field Representatives, who coordinated and managed on-the-ground grassroots campaigns among gun owners in targeted congressional, U.S. Senate, statewide, and state legislative races nationwide.  He has coordinated and oversaw scores of campaign training workshops in dozens of states.

Mr. Caroline frequently represents NRA in debates and public forums before national and international audiences on the issues of gun control and grassroots mobilization, and is interviewed by various media outlets concerning NRA=s grassroots activities.  His grassroots training is not just limited to the United States, as he has conducted multiple grassroots training workshops in Toronto, Canada to increase political activism among Canadian gun owners.  He is a featured lecturer at a number of national political seminars, and in 1998, was named one of Campaigns and Elections magazine’s “Rising Stars of Politics.

Glen is the editor of NRA’s weekly political AGrassroots Alert”; two monthly newsletters:  “The EVC Update” and “Freedom’s Voice”; and a quarterly newsletter geared toward college students called the “Straight Shooter.”

When it comes to grassroots activism, Glen practices what he preaches.  As a volunteer himself, Glen served as the Chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee (LCRC) from 2008-2010.  In recognition of his efforts in Virginia’s 2009 election cycle, Mr. Caroline was recognized as the state’s “Outstanding Unit Chair of the Year”.  He was presented this prestigious award by then-Governor Bob McDonnell, then-Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling, then-Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, and Republican Party of Virginia Chair, Pat Mullins.  Under Glen’s leadership, the LCRC was also named the “Best Unit” in the 10th Congressional District that year.

Glen has also served as a Federal Liaison for the NRA, where he lobbied nine congressional delegations and coordinated NRA’s PAC activities for federal elections in those states.

Mr. Caroline holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science with a Certificate in International Relations from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is an Endowment Member of the National Rifle Association and is an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructor.  He has been an employee of NRA since 1991.
