Matthew Hurtt is a copywriter for Response America, a direct mail fundraising firm that has raised millions of dollars for conservative candidates like Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Prior to joining Response America, Hurtt managed the 2010 campaign of Maryland State Senator Alex X. Mooney.
Hurtt got his start in the conservative movement in 2009 as a Campus Services Coordinator for the Leadership Institute’s CampusReform.org, which exposes leftist abuses in academia.
Growing up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Hurtt was very active in local politics. He ran for office at the age of 19, was an outspoken conservative on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University, and contributed regularly to the school newspaper and the local daily newspaper.
Hurtt now contributes to the Reason Magazine, Rare, United Liberty, and the Daily Caller. He was a Delegate to the 2012 Republican National Convention.
